Friendship at Fashion Sight

I can still remember when almost one year ago, I had the pleasure to meet and talk with Nixia (Head Designer & Owner). Tough is an excellent word to describe her, but not in a mean way; Au Contraire, is one of the characteristics I consider the best from her personality. 

Her decisions are fundamentally based on what she finds worth of dressing and never losing the sense of what a woman is all about. “A dress must be glamorous, but not tacky.”

I fell in love with the Varela LaMar brand when she presented a beautiful collection of golden shorts, hand made roses, and see-thru blouses for everyday use. The use of mesh, the silk and pants, was more than just a connection with real Latin America, it’s influenced (-and never forget) by those great artists that are no longer working, or not in this world.

Might have been that when she mentioned for Chanel and Christian Lacroix as an influence in her style I clicked by nature. Other option is that watching her collection walking down the runway made an ultimate explosion inside me… That moment I was alone, and this blog was just 7 posts new.

 We as a whole have been moving forward, looking for the next best brocade shorts, a pair of new high heels, or just for a way to find our style. Nixia has been a friend for us. And I would like to publicly thank her for all the support provided and by helming a label that just keeps giving.

From the Ixi Bags, now with the Bella Bags, Varela LaMar being sold among the best stores in Panamá, and a wonderful career still being constructed, I must trust that Nixia is a true friend which we are more than happy and proud to have.

The first time I said to her, This time you’re coming Costa Rica, next year I will go Panamá -I was not really sure if I would, but I did, not only me, also went with my  always partner-in-crime: Gabriel.  

I was really happy to share moments with my fashion friend, the designer that came to my country and made me fell in love with her designs, freshness and simplicity. It was fashion what made us meet each other, and now probably fashion will continue to bond us. 

It was friendship at Fashion Sight, it’s a friendship moved today by the passion for fashion that burns inside all of our hearts.
